Four days after Thanksgiving…
I am thankful for discomfort, that feeling that makes me get up and do something different. Try out things that I’ve only thought about or did not have the guts to try before.
I am thankful for challenges, they feel inconvenient, but they can bring strength to the surface. During these times I saw my support; my visible and invisible help. James 1:2-4 is right on time, patience…patience is produced when faith is tested…patience perfects and lacks nothing.
I am thankful that I’m not in this alone. It’s good and necessary to know that people care and show it. Most of all to read, “For I know that thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). This was written in a letter to a group of people who were captured and forced to move to another place, which the Lord caused. The thought reveals to me, that captivity cannot stop God, especially since his Son took captivity captive.
What are you unusually thankful for?
