Film Talk

13882363_10209906602326840_5968972429367120911_nI witnessed an epiphany today, some people call it an “Aha moment.” A student came into my office for advising and noticed a pattern in the courses taken. This student was like, what do I need to do to get on track? The talk was so focused that the student began talking about graduation! In that moment I saw the heavens open up, the student’s eyes widened, a clear and steady voice was in use, and there was an idea shared about new artwork. My thought was, who is this person in front of me!? Students are growing up right before my eyes, and I can’t take all of the credit.

Sooo yes I had a good first day of school! This year students are more interested in art! I’ve been sharing, with them, about creative activities and opportunities happening in Richmond…Like the Film & Talk happening tomorrow at the VMFA from 6:30-8:30 pm. I’m on the panel and it’s about Kehinde Wiley’s PBS documentary “An Economy of Grace.”
