Since May 2016, I’ve been working on a series of watercolor portraits. They are nine 22.5 x 30 inch works on watercolor paper. In Phase 1 I created preliminary drawings of people I know. For Phase 2 the drawings were brought to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, so that participants could collaborate on painting the background. Currently, Phase 3, I’m adding clarity to the background and started painting within the figures.
By the way I’m working on all 9 at the same time!
